Review of 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) by Craig F — 30 Aug 2016
While it's one of the years better films, the Cloverfield sequel really doesn't need to be. Shifting focus for the final 20 minutes, I am not sure the films humanity should have been sacrificed for a science-fiction spin.
The first 75 minutes where pulse poundingly good, everything a great thriller should be, but Michelle killing a monster in the final act, let's call it the epilogue, was outrageous. McCreary scores beatifully and the 3 performances are all outstanding, Winstead in particular.
