Review of 28 Days Later (2002) by Michael C — 23 Oct 2012
This movie right here ranks very high in my favorite movies and will remain there. This introduced the first running - or should I say sprinting? - infected. It wasn't very original but they were fast and they weren't really zombies.
But this movie is absolutely amazing. So, three activists try to uncover and stop experiments on chimps but in the process release a rage virus infecting all of Britain. Fast forward 28 days. Jim wakes up in a hospital that's completely abandoned.
He's wondering what's going on and steps out into the now deserted city to find no one. He searches and searches only to be met by some crazy, rage-infested people and then meets Selene, Mark, Hannah, and her dad.
After some events, the remaining survivors try to seek aid in a military group offering help to anyone who is still alive. Soon, they realize that they're not what they make out to be. Now, the infected aren't their only worries.
Danny Boyle created a interesting take in the zombie genre and made a place in history in horror cinema. It's filled to the rim with gore, good performances from good actors, and an overall movie entertaining experience.
I give this movie a solid 5/5 because this is one of the best to come out of the genre.
