Terrible vehicle for Kevin Costner's try at being Liam Neeson. Whoever wrote this contrived pile should be put out of their misery. Not one character in it is believable. Even Hailey Steinfeld who ( If you've seen True Grit you know) is amazing, couldn't pull off a believable teenager. Kevin Costner looks like he is stoned the entire flick, which he probably was to help forget what he was doing to himself by being in this travesty.
How the HELL does McG get directing jobs? His ridiculous monicker alone screams "I'm a self grandiose douche hipster wannabe". He is incapable of directing a believable scene and seems to think bigger explosions equals quality.
This really is just a terrible mess of a film.
