Review of A Film with Me in It (2008) by Stan G — 24 Mar 2012
Normally when one makes a black comedy, its imperative that the script contain a modicum of jokes in amongst the bad taste, just to stay within trades description laws. Here, writer Doherty ensures any such content has been extracted before the cameras rolled, leaving whatever semblance of comedy that remained to be crushed unmercifully underfoot by the ineffective meanderings of its inept cast.
That said, the germ of a good idea exists (fillum within a fillum) but isn't ever properly explored. More of a running gag than a movie, I'd avoid this like a rent-hungry landlord.
