It's a good think I read in the plot summary, that these monsters were alien's, because the movie failed to tell me that.
The movie also fails to mention just what the apocalypse, thata destroyed earth in this movie. Seems a fairly important point.
The movie does do a pretty good job of developing the family members characters.
