Review of A Quiet Place (2016) by Buddy G — 26 May 2018
Most of the time, you can count on the critic's ratings to give a good indication of how good a movie is. This movie is an outlier of that premise. Speaking of premises, the "be quiet or get killed" premise gets really tiring when you consider that instead of tip-toeing around on sand and marked areas on the floor, they should instead be creating an ambient noise sound buffer around their house.
This is especially frustrating after we see the father showing this concept to his son at the waterfall. There are other holes in logic throughout this movie which have been discussed by people with the slightest intellect to give this movie a poor rating.
I mean, no scientist / researcher ever thought about actually weaponizing the sound?! Seriously?!! It takes dumb-luck at the end of the movie to figure this out?! Lazy writing and gimmicks. That's all this movie is.
