Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Big N — 26 Jan 2019
Great idea, good atmosphere & I wanted to like it but needed to know why the army or pretty much anyone with guns & some tech could not defeat them. Make Loud noises everywhere to trap/distract & blow them to pieces, donï¿ 1/2(TM)t care how fast they move.
So many questions or plot holes. Where is everyone else, donï¿ 1/2(TM)t care if they can sign read there are far better equiped communities & people out there. Why did they not properly sound proof a room.
Why have a baby. Not an expert but how do you defeat or disorientate something with such super sensitive hearing, I know create something that produced a huge variation of loud sound pitches and blast them out there, did they only just discover the feedback on her hearing aid was quite effective, OK may not want to draw their attention & get them angry but have such a device 500m away is case of emergency perhaps seem to take their minds of whatever they were doing.
Where did he get his power. I did not hear what would have to be quiet a large generator (which of course they would destroy) to power those hundreds of bulbs & other tech or see many solor panels & huge bank of batteries.
Why sacrifice himself so easy, either throw a few things to make a noise & let the car roll off, or a least take a swing with the axe as it comes, why drop it however unlikely he would have any chance.
A film should not have to hold your hand and explain everything but if you struggle with the basic premise on so many levels it is hard to enjoy.
