Review of A Separation (2011) by David S — 31 Mar 2013
Achingly real Iranian film that builds layer upon layer of meaning and consequence into every decision. A tale of miscommunication, differences in religious beliefs, family dynamics, and spousal dynamics.
The most resonant separation in the film is the one between child and childhood, as two daughters from different families struggle to understand their parents' decisions.
