Review of A Shot in the Dark (1964) by Ali S — 23 Nov 2007
I only rented A Shot In The Dark but quite frankly, I lost interest about two minutes in. I had never seen any of Seller's Pink Panther movies before but had heard great things about them. While he may very well be a gifted actor, the movie relied much too heavily on slapstick and completely neglected the plot.
Not only that but I found the movie to drag on and on and on. Even the theatrical trailer was draggy! So, unless you are the type of person to watch a marathon of Columbo or something like that, you can definitely skip this film with great assurance that you aren't missing much.
After watching this film, I'm a little leary on renting any more Pink Panther movies unless they happen to be animated!
