Review of A Walk in the Woods (2015) by Jess H — 02 Sep 2015
Worst thing about this: some minor edits and this would have been PG-13, maybe even PG and I would have taken my kids to see this (no reason for this to be R unlike "Wild" where it was sort of necessary).
Great visuals, great acting, but no real compelling plot. Getting old is a pretty good reason but there really is no compelling reason to keep the story going. I was actually relieved when it ended the way it did.
Redford and Nolte are amazing, as expected, with great emotional chemistry between the characters, but there is no real reason for them to be doing what they are doing. They could have been driving the trail and had nearly the same experiences.
