I was a huuuuge fan of the whole book series as a kid, and could not have been more let down by this cynical cash-in. None of the characters or locations were the way I pictured them, and the directing seemed very stiff and TV-grade.
I would've thought it was tough to screw up such an amazing story but DuVernay pulled it off.
