Review of Aladdin (2019) by Honestlylol — 07 Jun 2019
I know there's a lot of people talking bad about it, but it's a really good movie that brought back a lot of my childhood. Mena Massoud made a charismatic and charming Aladdin that made me smile whenever he was onscreen; Naomi Scott made me cheer when she had her killer hit and gave me goosebumps with the power and emotion behind it; Will Smith was a hilarious genie who had a great relationship with Aladdin and a happy ending.
The scenery was wonderful and the costumes made it all seem so vibrant and alive. This live-action movie made the characters feel more human, giving them a relatable struggle and a different, and very interesting, storyline.
It definitely isn't the same as the original, but it will hold a dear place in my heart because it is just as good.
