Review of Alien (1979) by Aidan H — 29 Oct 2018
My favorite movie to date. I like how the crew is smaller so it's able to give you more reasons to care for them unlike to sequels. You can't talk about Alien without mentioning the amazing art by H.
R Giger (fun fact, the original Alien design that we see in the movie was H.R Giger's interpretation of his feelings). The great direction by Ridley Scott is one that any actor would kill to have on all there productions.
Also, all the sets, props, costumes, and animatronics look better than most summer blockbusters today. A prime example of how good the movie looks is the scene where they're looking at the insides of the face hugger which was made up of seafood.
All the performances were top notch. Can you imagine Ripley being played by anyone else than Sigourney Weaver? Just as perfect as a film as you can get.
