Review of All the Way (2016) by Grant H — 11 May 2017
I'm a big LBJ fan having read every biography available about him as well as everything about his presidency including the transcripts of his tapes. I love this film because it shows more than anything the dynamic between LBJ and Dick Russell which was such a big part of LBJ's m/o.
It also shows his burning commitment to Civil Rights but his often foul treatment of those on the left he was in the trenches with. If the movie has one flaw it doesn't show the counsel Russell gave LBJ on Vietnam in 1964 which also was a big part of the President's internal conflict on the issue; Acting is superb and the movie is a must see for any history buff.
