While still a typical Micheal Bay movie in terms of action the plot and dialogue as less stellar then one of his usual movies. Right from the get go there are signs of trouble when Jake Gyllenhaal's character keeps talking about his "plan" when it turns out to not be so much a plan but a loose general idea and it basically sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
It is definitely a turn your brain off to even remotely enjoy it kind of movie. If you are wanting a movie full of explosions and car crashes but lacking on plot and writing then this is your kind of movie.
