Review of Amsterdam (2022) by Nnogohko — 21 Nov 2022
I had so much fun with the first 30-40 minutes of the movie. I knew the reviews were mixed going in and I thought hey, this is not bad at all. Then, the plot started to get really complicated and I began to lose track of what was going on.
I was bored by the end of the movie and came out so disappointed that I even forgot I liked the first act. Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington are really wonderful in the film. I think the problem is that once it introduced so many other plot points other than these 3 character's relationships, that is when I lost interest.
I was so invested in Margot Robbie and John David Washington's weird romance but then I forgot about it by the end because there were a thousand other things going on that I didn't care about.
