Review of Anaconda (1997) by Ben B — 08 Nov 2011
A fun b-movie style "creature feature" with a star-studded cast, "Anaconda" really doesn't try to be anything more than a big-budget diversion. It's silly and over-the-top, but Jon Voight is a lot of fun and the rest of the cast, including a young Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Eric Stoltz, do an adequate job.
One downside is the special effects for the snake do not hold up very well these days. It all goes down easy though, so while "Anaconda" isn't a very good film, it is entertaining and worth a watch.
Especially for Voight's antics (and ridiculous accent). 6/10.
