Review of Annabelle: Creation (2017) by Habibiehakim — 01 Sep 2023
7.5/10.
While Annabelle: Creation is a way more well directed movie than the first Annabelle, somehow the movie wasn't as scary as the first Annabelle and the rest of the Conjuring movie, and it can be as terrifying if the most of the jumpscare was more terrifyingly executed and done better and that's the biggest flawed for me because it's making it less terrifying, another flawed was there is couple of stupid moments that bothered me, and that's it really, performances was not bad, I really like Anthony Lapaglia presence here, while it wasn't that terrifyingly execute I do still invested to the story and to all the characters, a surprisingly gory elements in the movie was a good added to at least make it the most scary things about the movie, and important to me to say that the climax of the movie with the exception of one of the two stupid moments in the film was actually a pretty intense climax and I was pretty much into it and that makes a point from me, so overall I still found Annabelle: Creation to be a not so bad pretty good horror prequel with all the flaws and if they done it better in terms of the legit terrifying moments the movie could've been better than the first Annabelle but the first Annabelle was legit scared me more than this, but I still appreciate the performances, some of the directing style, the story, the characters, and couple of intense sequences and pretty good climax, Annabelle: Creation still absolutely bearable to watch.
