A gripping account of the details surrounding the assassination plot and execution of one of the highest ranking SS officers in WW II, Anthropoid delivers in stark and brutal detail the events preceding and after the planned incident.
The film is educational in scope and horrific in portrayal. We do feel drawn into the two main character's lives even though their performances are both subtle. Anthropoid has gotten very mixed reviews.
If you have any interest in WWII history, Jewish history, or resistance, the film is educational albeit harshly disturbing.
