Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Ihateregisterin — 05 Sep 2014
I would rather be eaten by goats than be forced to subject myself to this film again. Basically, a magic pseudo-superwoman named Scarlett who, somehow, has 2 PhDs and a Master's Degree by the time she's roughly 30 and can solve any riddle in a matter of 30 seconds, tries to unearth the mythical Philosopher's Stone.
Of course, she also has the capability to solve any problem the plot may throw at her, from lock-picking to whatever else the writer cared to dream up. The story is non-existent, the repetitive jump scares are thoroughly boring, and the over-acting is hilariously bad in parts.
Avoid this film as if it were the Black Death, as it's arguably even worse than that.
