This is a fine little film that tells its story in its own way and in its own time. Stylistically it seems a little stilted and odd at first. Hence the comments from insensitive reviewers here. However the style and mannerisms are clearly intentional and help create a sense of a nostalgic dream world that is at the heart of Disney creations.
Just let it go and let the story take its course. In the end it's time well spent and offers Disney fans perhaps a slightly different understanding of what it's all about.
