Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part II (2012) by Bob V — 20 Oct 2012
An excellent adaptation of this part of the book! Given the extensive 'talking' sequences in the book itself, the writers and producers did an excellent job of converting the written themes and main message of the book into an entertaining and thought provoking image of a society on the brink of collapse.
A society that has embraced the ideas of collectivism that were spreading across the world back at the beginning of the last century and resulted in the massive economic failures of the socialist 'utopias' of the Soviet Union and China (which has stayed solvent only by introducing capitalist concepts to develop and encourage the growth of a real middle class).
I have enjoyed both movies (Parts I & II) and would recommend them to every human being on the planet, if only to help them understand better how and why capitalism actually works for everyone's benefit; an understanding sadly lacking into today's government-educated society.
