Review of Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) by Sideorderolemon — 06 Feb 2023
While the visuals and set pieces may be top of the line, the story and characters feel like they've aged by a decade. This movie isn't bad, but just not worth waiting 14 years for what feels like the original Avatar, but just made to capitalize on the highest grossing film of all time.
The runtime may make you believe that it's full of character development, world building, and badass action, but instead drones on nothing for the entire middle section, but may entertain most people based on spectacle alone.
Avatar: The Way of Water just feels like a cash grab with much visual detail and action near the end, but lacks in writing, pacing, story, characters, and pretty much any other aspect.
