Review of Bāhubali: The Beginning (2015) by Yash B — 14 Nov 2018
The first part of the "Baahubali" story does a good job of setting the stage and introducing the characters. I thought this movie was entertaining and I enjoyed watching it. A handful of scenes felt unnecessary but for the most part, everything is pretty relevant to the overall story.
The action scenes are over the top fun and the dialogue exchanges between characters stay fairly engaging. The main gripe I have about the movie is some of the visual effects. While some of the effects are top notch and completely believable, others feel clearly unrealistic and it just took me out of certain moments.
Still, as a whole, the CG is solid and convincing enough. Overall, its a good part one that lays the groundwork well and gets the viewer excited and ready for the second part.
