These kinds of movies aren't really produced anymore. This enormous epic is a wonderful representation of classic Hollywood. Everything about it is flawlessly executed, including the exquisite writing and expert acting.
Damien Chazelle's ode to film deserves every Oscar and a clean sweep of the Academy Awards. As a movie enthusiast, it amazes me that critics think this is terrible and that they should be ashamed of themselves.
For this reason, I rarely pay attention to critic reviews. Since I see a lot of movies, I can honestly say that this is the best movie of the year and among the best I've ever seen. Get out and see this unique, once every ten years, masterpiece.
