Review of Back in Time (2015) by Joshua N — 12 Jan 2016
A really great exploration of the legacy of Back to the Future and its sequels; I remain flabbergasted at the depth the behind-the-scenes can delve and how much more information continues to come out about the production and the impact this trilogy has had on popular culture and modern culture itself.
The film features great retrospective interviews from the main producers and cast, and offers excellent materials from the production up for examination.
The other great piece of the film is the final 3rd where we look at the DeLorean restoration project to bring the original car back to a condition suitable after its years sitting in the Universal backlot getting scavenged for parts and gathering rust, and finally putting it on permanent museum display. In addition, the various hoverboard projects that are popular but still not quite what the die-hard fans are looking for; it'll be interesting to see this tech get better and better. Too bad it couldn't be perfect for last year though!
All in all, if you're a fan of the original films - no doubt you'll like this peek behind the curtain and look back at how it's aged, oh so, gracefully.
