Strangely this movie has a reputation of being bad for some people. Except the weaker start it is for me as good as the other movies and a worthy entry in the franchise. With this final entry it is a franchise that has only good movies which is rare.

It continues directly after the prequel. Doc Brown is stranded in the wild west in the year 1885. Because the necessary technology is not available at the time he cant repair the timemachine / DeLorean.

He is however happy there working as blacksmith and wrote a letter that he does not want to be rescued. However shortly after retrieving the stored DeLorean there is a revelation that changes everything and is the start of this final adventure.

Again the story feels fresh and is enjoyable. It is immersive and I like the twists. The conclusion is also a satisfying and fitting end to the trilogy. I am repeating myself for this franchise but they get the mixture of seriousness and humor right (Third time in a row).

Both do not harm the other and this is hard as many other movies fail in this regard. Like I already mentioned the start is a bit weaker and my theory is that this causes the more negative view as some people would quit there.

After that it is excellent and the climax is really immersive. Again we have a great performance by the cast. I already praised Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown in both prequels and they deliver again.

They are iconic characters and pop culture legends. Thomas F. Wilson returns as antagonist but this time as Buford Tannen nicknamed as “Mad Dog”. He is ruthless, intimidating and menacing or in short an awesome villain.

New is Mary Steenburgen as Clara Clayton. A really good addition to the cast. The rest of the cast completes this great performance. I want to thank especially director Robert Zemeckis for this great trilogy.

I think he deserves more recognition. Visually the movie looks fully believable and the special effects are great. The soundtrack is top notch and Alan Silvestri should also be praised for his works. Overall this is a fitting final entry in the trilogy.

The franchise has only good movies in it and I have fond memories. I recommend the whole trilogy as it is a connected complete story arc and great entertainment.
