Review of Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) by Thomas P — 13 Oct 2018
Classic case of a better trailer than film. But still not bad. Seems to be attempting to channel Tarantino-esqe vibes. Jon Hamm's character controls the room during the first quarter of the film and is quite entertaining.
However, as the movie progresses, I found myself forcing interest. A little predictable at times. Still highly recommend, especially given the very skilled cast. There was only one moment I remember the packed audience gasping in unison, and it was an ultimately insignificant happening.
4/5 at best, with great acting by Hamm and the lobby boy, as well as Hemsworth.
