Review of Barbie (2023) by Cutloso — 21 Jul 2023
Its okay if you just want your entertainment checkbox marked but as expected its just another modern day remake filled with overpowered "you go girl" and "more power to you girl" feminist propaganda, nothing more. There is no difference in this movie and the Disney remakes, repurposed for overly soft modern audiences, who cannot have a women chasing a man or cannot be depicted even slightly less in power. There was so much potential for this movie, there were so many possibilities on how a Barbie movie would look in a modern day setting but as expected the makers only focused on the feminist side of it. The old animated Barbie movies are much better than this movie by a million miles. Barbie as Rapunzel (2002) and Barbie of Swan Lake (2003) alone will hold up till date compared to this as they had a gripping story and beautiful soundtrack. Margot Robbie did her best as always to do justice to the role and so did Ryan Gosling and the rest of the cast.
The movie is gonna do good in the box office.
But then again at the end of the day it is just another movie following the modern day woke propaganda.
