Review of Basquiat (1996) by Sanjaya & — 27 Oct 2008
Sorry but this is another one that I can't stand. While it has the best intentions to bring the story and scene od the young graffitti artist, it just comes off as too mkuch cheese pretension. There is an artificial tone that I didn't dig about this movie even though it has a great cast.
While I do like Jeffrey Wright in other movies, I just didn't care for him here and he spent a lot of time looking around googly eyed and acting faux spaced out. Bowie is good as Andy Warhol. I tried to give this a few more chances but I just can't enjoy it.
