Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Andrew S — 06 May 2012
This should have won best adapted screenplay for 2004 instead of Sideways. (Eternal sunshine was original screen play winner.)The dialogue in this film and the natural chemistry between the two leads is so natural.
You can easily read behind their subtle jokes and laughter that it's heartbreaking for both of them. This was a most deserving sequel and re-visitation to the modern fairy tale of the original. Absolutely wonderful and I hope a third will be followed as Ethan Hawke has mentioned hoping for, but if not the ending is ambiguous enough that the audience can complete their own ending.
I love this film and its prequel. Well done Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.
