If you have dealt with addiction in any way, whether it be as an addict, recovering addict, addiction counselor, loved one of an addict, or any other way I failed to mention, this movie is a MUST SEE!!! This movie has the power to save lives.
I truly wish it was getting more publicity because anything that has the ability to save lives should be at the forefront, not Aquamen or Transforming Vehicle Aliens. If I had seen this movie 15 years ago, my life may be different today.
It is very powerful and hits home. I can't say enough great things about this movie. If more movies were made this well, concerning serious real life topics, Hollywood may actually start helping to mend this nation, instead of dividing it.
Julia Roberts, Lucas Hedges and even Courtney Vance deserve award consideration for their roles. They didn't "overact", they were able to take what so many of us are going through and put it on screen in a very believable manner.
If you don't shed a tear during the Christmas Eve scene, when they are in church, then you may not be human. Please, even if you have never experienced the trials and tribulations of addiction, see this movie.
If anything, it will show you that by staying clean and sober, you are saving your family and yourself from a world of pain and heartache.
