Review of Berlin: Symphony of a Great City (1927) by Nathan H — 19 Oct 2007
The low rating here reflects something more than the movie, which is an unfortunate reflection of the enviroment I saw it in. It was scored by the "Milwaukee Improvisational Laptop Orchestra" a loose collective formed in early 2007.
There are at least five red flags in that factor of my viewing. And believe me, they all came true. The movie itself reminded me very much of Man with a Movie Camera. And I saw that with The Cinematic Orchestra's score, a much better accompaniment.
