Review of Big Trouble in Little China (1986) by Caleb E — 11 Jan 2019
I'm not going to lie, this review is absolutely biased based on the fact that I'm a huge John Carpenter fan. This movie is entertaining and definitely campy at moments, but I truly love that it never takes itself too seriously.
Even in moments where they are establishing lore Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) plays it cool enough to address the absurdity of it all. Making even the craziest moments seem almost real because how he treats it.
Some movies don't do "over-the-top" too well, but this one absolutely does, it's wacky, crazy, and absolutely worth watching.
