Review of Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) by Abefiletti — 13 Nov 2020
Bill and Ted Face the Music is a most excellent way to end the trilogy. Now I give it a 7/10 which is definitely not bad. To start off Keanu Reeves, and Alex Winter somehow still feel like they are teenagers from the 80s.
Also the addition of their daughters was really cool. Especially Ted's daughter. I of course love Bill, and Ted in this film but I think Billy, played by Bridgette Lundy-Paine, was surprisingly the standout.
She just felt so much like Keanu Reeves in the first film, while adding her own twist to it. I also think the journey the daughters went on was more excellent than the one Bill and Ted went on. Of course Bill and Ted's journey was still good, but I thought Billy, and Theo's journey was much cooler and more engaging.
It also ends in probably the most satisfying way possible, and I didn't see how they ended it coming. My main problem though is it wasn't particularly funny. There were a few times you might chuckle, but there wasn't a time were I was dying laughing, for example when Bill and Ted are playing the games with death in Bogus Journey.
And when you are making a comedy I think you have to be funny, and this movie really isn't that. Even though I said Bill and Ted still feel like teenagers I never felt like they reached the same level as they were in the first two movies.
This an overall most excellent way to end off the Bill and Ted trilogy, but it has one really big fault in it not being that particularly funny. I give Bill and Ted Face the Music a 7.5/10 and a B-. I would like to end with a quote.
''Be excellent to each other. And Party on dudes.
