Review of Blair Witch (2016) by Mrpajamas — 27 Dec 2021
Blair Witch is back and I'm not complaining. What I missed so much in the second episode is back, and that's the records. In other words, it's Found Footage again, and I loved it. What also came back was the forest and this time it was interesting to me all the time because there was always something going on.
The whole film is much more action packed compared to the first one, which will be a nice change for some and some may find it boring. I did like the slower pace of the first film though, where it was a bit boring at times, but it gradually built up to the end.
On the plus side, the best part here too was the ending, which was pretty damn action packed. It was thrilling to watch, but on one hand it wasn't as believable as the original Blair Witch. You can tell it's a modern horror movie now, but I didn't mind because it was something a little different.
It surprised me. I thought it was going to be a dud, but in the end I consider 2016's Blair Witch a good movie to recommend to horror fans.
