Awful movie that does not take itself seriously. Cringefest, jokes are so cliché it hurts. There isn't a single intelligent character - do not expect them to be logical or use common sense - the very caricature of an exaggerated personality makes them unsympathetic. Expecting to learn more about the blue beetle? Forget it, the alien artifact gets much explanation as an instant noodles instruction. What is said to be a conscious being gets reduced to being Alexa.

The hero's journey is faulty by the sheer lack of importance and sympathy given to the characters, and most import: the lack of overcoming a challenge to become a hero. The battles are okay, good CGI and VFX. This could be part of the Fast and Furious franchise, that's how bad it is. Do not waste your time nor give money to studios that treat you like a fool.
