Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Shaun B — 27 Jan 2019

Bohemian Rhapsody isn't as good as people are making it out to be. I was very hyped to watch this movie because I like the band Queen and their songs and the reviews said that it was one of the best movies of 2018. As the first thirty minutes of the film was great I expected the film to get better, but instead it got worse. The casting for Queen was very good because they made them look like the Queen members. Rami Malek, Ben Hardy. Gwilym Lee and Joseph Mazzello play the members of Queen and are great in it.

The soundtrack in this film was the best film thing about the film because the film starred all of Queen's Greatest Hits. The sound editing and sound mixing wasn't good because when Queen were performing at live aid, Freddie Mercury mouth wasn't moving in time with the music, so you can tell that Rami Malek, wasn't signing. Most of the strong language in this film was really unnecessary, because they threw unneeded swear words in at times. As Bryan Singer was directing the film, I expected it to be good, as Bryan directed X-Men, but was wrong.

I am very shocked that it won Best Drama at the Golden Globes and was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, because the film does not deserve Best Picture. Most of the Oscar nominations doesn't deserve a win, expect from best actor. The only thing that kept this movie going was the great performances, the first 30 minutes, and the live aid scene at the end. I am not sure if the movie is historically accurate or not. Despite it being very boring, Bohemian Rhapsody is a film that will keep fans of Queen entertained. I wouldn't recommend this garbage because it is very disappointing.
