Review of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) by Chrisl. — 06 Nov 2006
I loved the Borat's skits and was a bit afraid they would not work in a feature length movie... Well they do. This is humour at its best, when performed on unsuspecting persons, with a good dose of improv.
Sasha Baron Cohen is a highly intelligent actor, never shying away from crazy situations. And in the end the movie itself is so clever, you understand Kazakhstan is not such a backward country, and the US and A is not filled with bigots and braindeads.
You understand those were hyperboles and you were looking at yourself all along... and you feel good about the catharsis the movie provided to you. Thanks you Borat for making benefit to us.
