Review of Breakfast on Pluto (2005) by Augustine H — 14 May 2015
The movie is long, but that is quite a wise thing as it takes the audience some time to get used to the whole atmosphere as it is very different from the real life and ordinary people all around. It takes a while to get used to the character of Kitten, to his unique mannerism and the things that go through his mind.
But once you do, once you understand him the way he really is then the movie becomes a masterpiece, one that you just don't want it to end. Cillian Murphy's performance is nothing short of amazing.
The movie might have been a total disaster without Murphy but because of him it's brilliant. It's a powerful heartbreaking story of a transvestite that is just too good for this terrible fake world.
