Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Andy S — 10 Aug 2018
Very interesting plot with an already interesting character who hasn't spoken a word. Spy movies are some of my favorites. Top notch acting. It's crazy how easy it is to put someone in the military in a stressful position and to change whatever there doing all of a sudden.
Talk about being put in an awkward situation. Tom Hank's character has to defend a Soviet Spy. The kind of person that everyone wants to see die or go to jail. There's some very clever scene changes. Pisses me off to see that war propaganda can't help but make its way into the minds of children at school. The videos they played to the kids about nuclear attack.
Ridiculous how brainwashed and ignorant people were back then and still kind of are. I understand Hanks' character. For him, he just wants to provide fair rights to a human being, regardless if he's an enemy or not. Talk about timing and making things complicated with the Berlin wall getting erected.
They were definitely more aggressive with the American spy than with the Soviet spy in terms of getting information.
Good story about doing what's right and all that shit.
