Review of Bridge to Terabithia (2007) by Dontbenasty — 22 Feb 2017
I hate this movie. Why? Well, The biggest reason is that I consider it bait and switch. I expected a fantasy film. Trailers, plot summaries, the boxart and the walt disney name itself had me expecting a fantasy film.
Throughout, I tried to figure out wether or not all that was happening in the forest was real or make believe. I figured it out way in advance, but I kept hoping it was a fantasy film. Secondary reason I hate this movie? Leslie dies at the end for a dump reason.
Reality? Well, I got plenty of that as it is. It could be partially redeemed by the fact that it was fairly enjoyable movie with a bunch of kids, but then it kills a character, and the mood goes down with it.
It did not feel sad, I felt I was never getting the rental money I payed, back.
