I can't stand it when movies THINK they're being deep.
This may have worked as a play but as a movie it REEKED. The dialogue was awful, self-involved, self-centered, and just unbelievable. Even intellectuals within academia don't go around spouting the so-called self-reflective and visceral emotional truths that some of these guys were...and the speech at the end from her ex was just ridiculous, not because it was supposed to be, because no one talks like that.
HATED this movie.
