Review of Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2009) by Lehho R — 23 Sep 2010
Mostly unsurprising and unoriginal-seeming. Almost throughout I had the unenjoyable impression that it contained only one character with one voice, speaking through many faces, actors. It consequently felt like an 80-minute monologue with a gimmick.
The content proved richer near the end, and I at least was left with some thoughts provoked, about feminism, psychology, interpersonal relations, violence, and filmmaking. It didn't seem to say nearly as much as it would have liked.
