Review of Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star (2011) by Guido S — 15 Jan 2014
In a way another version of Orgazmo, directed by Tom Brady (not the QB for the Patriots), Bucky Larson finds out his parents were in porn movies and decides he is destined to follow in their footsteps.
He moves to LA to follow his dream and ends up meeting Christina Ricci as a waitress who helps him adjust to the bustle of the big city. He has trouble making it big since, umm, he isn't quite so.
However, he meets Don Johnson (not a porn name) and he is a broke director who wants to hit it big again. He hires Bucky since he is the son of stars and they stumble into a weird niche of films where Bucky makes a mess everywhere.
I liked Orgazmo for its funny take on the industry while still being funny, this just seems like a cheap version of Orgazmo. It has some great actors, but it just isn't as funny as that one.
