Review of Bulletproof Monk (2003) by Max M — 22 Jul 2010
Not as bad as everyone claims it to be I like it iI mean it has a lot of great action and stunts to it bulletproof even though it is kind of more likely of a guilty pleasure now but I liked it it is a fun enjoyable action comedy the best action comedy film since rush hour the film stars chow-yun-fat (crouching tiger hidden dragon the replacement killers and pirates of the carribean 3 wolrds end) seann william scott (the rundown final destination american pie american pie and american wedding which he was well known for playing the perverted sex addict teen stiffler from the american pie film 1-3) jaime king(my bloody valentine 3-D the spirit and slackers) kare roden victoria smurfit mako marcus jean pirae roger yuian and matt birman the film starts out in tibet in 1943 during of course world war II during a peaceful a group of english (england) soldiers go to tibet and invade and kill and terroize the citizens of tibet and then the master of chow yun fat's character gets killed by the soldiers and kill everyone else besides monk then 60 years later in 2003 current time in the film well monk in present in supposedly america goes and meets kar a street slacker punk who was raised by no family and grew up and lived at a chinsese movie theater called the golden palace then later on the soldier from the beginning returns but older though his daughter runs a humans rights organiziton in which she finds the monk that her and her father have been looking for forever and end up trying to kill the monk which the code of it makes the older man in the film turn young again well I dont want to spoil the rest of the film highly recommeneded for fans of martial arts etc when the film had opened in april 18-20 2003 weekend the film sadly opened at #4 because of the adam sandler and jack nicholson comedy anger management but still this is a great fun action comedy film not as bad as people say it is but its a fun pure action film highly recommended for action fans too.
