Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Calvin R — 08 Jan 2018
Call me by your name was poignantly a melancholy powerful film set in the 80's. Technically beautifully directed by Luca Guadaguino. The film is set in italy, where two people coming out fall in love, ultimately I said this was poignantly filmed; because it was a emotional moving rollercoaster.
I had so many emotion in this crafty film, I was disappointed, but satisfy all at the same time. The struggle of the lgbt in the 80's in italy was surreal. Luca Guadaguino captured this love story with a fantastic 80's atmosphere that was done really great, seeing a bit of italy landscape was fanastic.
The performance by all our cast was very memorable and excellent; especially the performance by Armie Hammer, and Timothee Chalamet. They both did an extraordinary performance. The score was beautifully fun, and a lot of heart.
This drama film was full of emotions and a love story that just had me glued to the film. Although the ending had a powerful bitter sweet ending, but that is what Luca Guadaguino was aiming for; especially that this was set in the 80's.
