Review of Carol (2015) by Tyler E — 11 Jun 2016

This one may have suffered from my lack of familiarity with the source material, and of my own expectations. It's a fine film, but I was never really sure whether this was supposed to be just a love story that happened to star two women, or a direct commentary on the difficulty of being a lesbian in that era.

In either instance however, I'm not sure it delivered as the stakes never seemed to hit home, or to be really that well-established by the characters.
