Review of Carry On Columbus (1992) by David B — 30 Jul 2007
Less than the sum of its parts. The sort of film that would try and make a lame double entendre out of the word 'parts' when there really isn't one to be had. Jim Dale, Leslie Phillips, June Whitfield are all wonderful but most of the others just aren't trying.
Poor Sarah Crowe tries very hard indeed but just doesn't make it. And strangley, Alexei Sayle seems to work. But the script doesn't. Proof that Peter Richardson should shelve Carry On London permanently and spare digging up the corpse again.
