Even the expensive reshoots couldn't fix the problems that this movie had. Incredibly slow, uninteresting story. There is pretty much no character development at all, and it feels like it ran 20-30 minutes too long when it could have been much quicker than what it was.
I think we have a problem where something is successful so we automatically have to adapt it into a film or tv show. We can't just admit that just because it is successful in one form, it won't be as successful in another.
Read books, Ignore this awful film.
